I met the guy in a dimly lit parking lot at night and I've already apologized for the pic quality...
I've been around long enough to know the decals are original but obviously scuffed. The liner is a second pattern M1931. The chin strap is in good condition but has no end-markings. I've seen similar helmets selling for around half his asking price. I recognize the party decal but I was hoping for more info on the eagle decal. I only took two pics. I'm simply asking for a rough estimate of price.

Re: Help Needed to ID Double Decal Police/Civic Helmet
If you consider the helmet to be all original i would say $200-$250

Re: Help Needed to ID Double Decal Police/Civic Helmet
A scuffed decal doesn't make it a real decal. Based on what I see I would say that these are probably good, but close-ups would be good. As for the price, I have seen ones in the same condition as this one for sale for as low as $120. I wouldn't pay $350 for this one.

Yes. Thank you, I realize that. I'm basing my judgment on the overall helmet finish, as well as the condition and appearance of the decals. I'm sure it happens, but I doubt someone would take the time to apply and age fake double decals on a police helmet. This seller doesn't seem to be very knowledgeable as he stated "M35 German helmet" in his ad. There were several other items being sold with this lid like a canteen, gas mask, daggers, bayonets, buckles mausers etc. Everything else was original, which does ad to it's credibility in my opinion. I've learned to keep an open mind in every instance. I once purchased a M18 ear cut-out with an absolutely mint liner(the liner frame was shiny like polished chrome). The shell was a fake but the liner was original(to my surprise) and I sold the liner for the price I paid for the entire helmet and kept the shell for reference...
So the decals are standard police it seems? I like this lid but I have a feeling the seller isn't going to like me telling him that it isn't worth what he's asking... Thank you all for your help. I might offer $150 if I can verify the decals.

Re: Help Needed to ID Double Decal Police/Civic Helmet
I have one similar, DD aluminum water firefighters parade helmet with the metal comb on the top, with a prestoff liner, and I only paid 250 for it. I agree 150 would be fair in this condition, no more than 200

Re: Help Needed to ID Double Decal Police/Civic Helmet
Hmmm. Here's a similar "mounted police" helmet with "rare 'Y' chin straps".
Brandywine Militaria - Japanese, German and American Artefacts
Did these come with the Y chin straps, or was that just for mounted police? I need to buy a helmet reference book...

Re: Help Needed to ID Double Decal Police/Civic Helmet
Wow, I only have one of these types of helmets, so really know bugger all about differing variations. However what i have learnt about German helmets, esprcialy non combat types is the amazing variety in styles of liners. So it would not surprise me at all if this was a variation, and specialist version of the liner for mounted troops......another type to add to my wish list
