Here's one I'm not familiar with...Would this be considered an M34? ...Your input and opinions are appreciated...

I don't think that's an M34 Glenn, the vents seem to be in an odd place!...
It's those highly placed Lug-Vents that caught my attention ...There are many M34 Variants, btw....

After having a look around the net if that lid is aluminium it's a lightweight parade helmet, but as i said the vents look rather high to others i've seen!..
The shell looks like a squat Austrian manufactured M34 similar to these 2. All of the flat Austrian M34'2 I have seen have had dual 7 hole vents, but I would not be surprised if from time to time they were made with the vents that are on your example. I would suspect that yours is not aluminum, but just a light weight steel shell like most M34's. The liner looks like it is period correct. I think it is a good, WWII piece that may have been repainted. I like it. Jim G.
Thank you for your input, gentlemen...I continue to search for an identical example for comparison...I do agree that it's a decent-looking lid!

Just found this one Glenn, sorry it's so small but it's the thumbnail from a dead link, it's described as an M34 police lid, notice the pretty high vents but they look like the mesh screened type!...
That looks more like an E.German Fire Helmet...
Another difference is the 3-Rivet Liner, as seen on the regular Stahlhelm...Those Police/Fire helmets shown above have 4-rivet liners...two of them in the back...
