    Just a guess but the helmet has no liner and isn't secured in anyway. Notice how it knocks it off the shelf. I think much of the energy is absorbed by not be secure. Just a guess.

    Yes!! due to the knock back it absorbed energy but when a soldier used it there wasn't big energy absorbion..that's why I call I. propaganda clip :-D

    intresting clip. like seeing the decals getting put on and the spray painting. i would say the gun is shooting a low velocity .22 round.

    It is actually interesting to study the strength of the helmets.

    The Danish M23 helmet, in its final form with 1,2 mm steel, was supposed to take a direct riffle hit at 300 meters.
    When shot at with the Danish 8X58 RD cartridge from the M/1889 Kragh Jørgensen riffle.

    Don't know about the specific specs for the German helmets, and what they were supposed to be able to withstand.
