well looks like the model is an M35 but the air vent studs are missing the over paint doesn't appear to be real as for the decals cant say im afraid.
As Nick has said, an M35 with missing rivets. I would say the paint job is post war, not sure whats going on with the decals. I have never seen a rust pattern like that on decals before, even on relics. What are the makers mark, size and lotnumber? These will be located on the inner skirt at the side and rear. This will help identify whether this should be a luftwaffe helmet or not. Bigger photos would also help a lot!
Welcome to the forum
The paint on the inside does appear to be the right colour, again better photos would help.
Thanks for your replies! Will post bigger pictures tomorrow and see if I can find the makers mark, size and lotnumber this time
it looks almost like someone applied a heavy laquer over the decals a long time ago.
There are at least two coats of modern paint outside and around the decals,
also brush strokes on the inside at the crown, which would indicate an
entire repaint - like as if someone did not like the rusty appearance
of a relic lid. There is no honest paint wear to the outer rim at all,
plus, possible signs of what looks like light coloured
'Bondo' or filler.
Both decals seem odd to me as well, especially the eagle,
which has no real detail or definition.......
Did you pay much for it ?
