It is a WWII German relic M35 or M40 shell.

The vents have been welded or blocked somehow,
I cannot ID it positively as one or the other.......

It wouldn't be worth very much...Maybe $50? It would be good to use for a cloth cover.....Hope that helps a little....certainly an M40 - shame about the vents but it is what it is....
    Cheers!

PS.....did you find any markings on the back or side of the skirt? on this inside? That would be the maker and size of the helmet.

It is also strange that the rivet holes seem shut in the same way.
I don't see any rivets coming through the inside of the shell,
but it could be that the photo is just too dark in my screen.

This would be my guess at a price too. About $50
    Regards,

    Steve.
