Late War M38 No Decal FJ Helmet - ckl 71 - Lot # 4255
Here is a late War M38 FJ, a possible KIA as the buckle on the long end of the strap was cut, and it also appears that there is some blood rot on the brow of the liner. The liner is otherwise in fair condition. The lot number is 4255. The maker/size stamp - ckl 71 - is mostly under the liner band and is a bit hard to make out. The lot number places its date of manufacture sometime in late 1943 I think. The paint is fairly intact. It has 3 of the 4 factory installed slotted bolts, the 4th is gone - not unusual with these. No history on this one - just a fair example of a late War para helmet. Hope you like it, Jim G.

Nice helmet Jim On my to get list!!
Nice lid! I particularly like the apparently field replaced bolt. Gives it abit of character!

Very nice Jim. I have a very late war version as well (corpse cut straps).
My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Thanks guys, I like to think this FJ was at Hill 192, where my uncle Charlie fought in July 1944, one of the many battles in which he participated during his combat service in France from Omaha Beach on 6/6/44 until his third wound, sustained on 9/14/44 in the battle for Brest, sent him home. Jim G.
