    Well I have finally got around to posting my other named lid. Nice ET66 M40 KM, named to a Caspar

    Austrian M17 helmet, I'm guessing Kriegsmarine reissued in WW2, then issued to the Danish Post-war

    I see what could be the "LokalForsvarsRegion" abbreviation, but have never heard about these helmets being issued in Denmark.
    Any further info on this?
    Very good looking helmet BTW These are so much more impressive than WWII lids IMO.

    Must be a fluke/lone helmet or one of very few if brought to Denmark. Or they were in storage.
    I have never seen it documented, that these were ever used by Danes in great numbers in that configuration.
    German helmets have been used totally overpainted and as firemans helmets etc of course.
    BTW in regards to the link; its LokalForsvarsREGION - not "regiment."
    Directly translated "Local Defence Region."
    Nice lid.

    I am not sure about the use of German helmets by the Danes, I only know what I've heard/found. My bad on the translation. I'm guessing LRF is sort of like the Home Guard?/Civil defence?
