    I'll be first and say that I have never had a helmet with that colour felt, and the pin attaching the leather to the liner would make me panic!

    I'll leave it up to others better qualified to comment further.

    I'm sorry to say that the leather has definitely been replaced on this one mate. The fingers look elongated compared to German leather and the pin holding it in place is incorrect, a ring of thin flat split pins is standard.

    Post war or repro liner. Look like rounded copper liner pins. Not what they used on German liners during the war.

    thanks for the replys , when i brought it the seller did say possible repro liner so i thought i would check on here as i did notice a makers mark DRP 1940 on the band. Thanks again for the info.

    The band itself may be genuine. It's easy to throw a post war or repro liner on an original band. The holes might line up just right to fit the liner pins. What's the outside of the helmet look like?
