sorry to say but as far as i know this looks like a fake one, the liner is for luftschuts or firepolice use and the decals look from this photos bad too and as the helmet it self looks like luftschutz
What kind of helmet is this, with the ridge around it? I don't know squat about helmets. I see Klinger answered my question while I was asking it. It looks different than most Luftschuitz I have seen. Well, at least your KVK mit Schwerten, and SA Armelband are ok.
it is an m35 style helmet made for civil use as luftschtz with the ridge around sometimes called a kradmelder helmet, but im no helmet expert and this is just what i know about this kind of helmet
here to pictures of the helmet style and how it looks normaly
Its whats referred to as a beaded helmet, considered to be a non combat version, all three types, ie m35, m40, m42 had versions of this type, but it is generally considered that the SS did not use these for their helmets, as for the decals, i would assume these are not correct, but i would wait for better clarification
It's a fake, the rim in the helmet shows this was a rejected combat helmet.
Good enough for police or fireman duty but not for the front.
So this rejected helmet was defenitly not for SS use.

Horrendous fake SS and Party decals if this was bought as an original SS helmet then your friend has been well ripped off
