Looking for WWII U.S. dog tags
Has no one told me that I've died?
Your fiance doesn't know about this hoard yet.........
After seeing these new photos, If anyone could perhaps point out somethings I missed and suggest reasonable offers for the helmets, I'd really appreciate it.
What helmets are you looking to get.
I'm interested in the M42, and the double decal police. They are in the best shape. The fire police is in good shape too, but outside of my area of interest. I'm also interested in the Austrian shell and bathtub sized WWI helmet shell.
To be honest, I want to see if he will sell some of the badges he showed me... Maybe I should save my money and make an offer on those?
gizmo8Z: If you have the cash, offer the guy $1000 for the lot and walk away. The worries over which, if any, are fraudulent are secondary. We seem to be living in a space where anything we don't recognize is fake. But think for a moment, what would it take--stamping presses etc,. for someone to reproduce those helmets? At $1000 you have a bargin in my opinion. I Certainly would offer that if the opportunity presented itself. Keep what you want and sell the rest to cover your expenses. That's business. Dwight

This DD Beaded Police with L.S. Stamp sold recently for $325, so that should give you some idea of what to offer. I would offer $300 for the M42, that is a fair price. Austrian shells in that condition go for about $100-$150 on eBay.
