Thanks Paul, despite the white noise in the background I learned a few important things about how to detect a faked camo. Thanks guys. Jim G.

Interesting how the crowds love a train wreck. 1200 views and counting on a thread about a crappy fake Cassino helmet, LOL...hopefully there were more things learned than how to spot a fake camo!

As of this moment that "lovely" fake is at 1000.00 USD and it isn't over yet. Seems some people disagree with the "masters".

Hmmmm, not whether or not that was meant as a sarcastic comment. The "masters" certainly points that way.

My opinion is, that there are few chaps "in the know" and we are fortunate to have some of them posting there and sharing their knowledge gained over years of collecting with us.

Gullible people on the other hand are legion and are lining up in order to part with funds, as evidenced by the fake lid in question.

The LV post I will not dignify with a comment.

Bottom line on the fake: I for one would not know what to look for, so I am grateful for any hints as to whether or not the lid is a dud. Without the info in this thread, I would not have seen the signs of a fake. Not that I am in the market for a lid of eflay.

A Fool is easily parted with his money !!!

Unfortunately some fools want to be parted with a lot of money what a pity they aren't members here and can get advice from some of the knowledgable and experienced collectors we have here, some of whom are " Masters " of original Helmet recognition.
