    Default Luftschutz helmet with decal.

    Hi guys.

I have been looking for a reasonable Luftschultz for some time and decided on this example as it is complete with liner and strap with a good decal. This helmet arrived to me covered in dust and cobwebs and is photographed more or less uncleaned.

The maker RL2 - 39/11 is Carl Busse of Mainz who also produced various equipment to the police and fire services.

This helmet has one feature I have never seen on any other Luftschultz helmet and this is where during use natural wear has uncovered a reddish under coat. So I am wondering if this was normal for this manufacturer or whether this was a general red firemans helmet that got a factory re-paint as war loomed.

    Mark.

Hi, nice helmet, the red must just be a primer, but it is certainly all original from what I can see, so no worries. Leon.
