Luftwaffe paint

Hello all, Can anybody tell me if Luftwaffe helmets were ever painted with a textured finish? as in aluminium oxide? Thanks

Hi Phill, if you are talking early Luftwaffe Blue, then No.

Hey Phill,

From 1940- on most helmets were painted with textured M40 spec paint. The texture used was aluminum oxide.

Here is an M42:

Yep my lufty M40 has abit of texture as well

M40's tend to look more grey than blue but they are all textured.
This EF comes close to LW blue.
