Luftwaffe SD Helmet odd patina

Hello,
Took some good advice and picked this up from a dealer. The Helmet has an odd patina and looks to of had a thick greyish paint applied with some glittery bits in.....possibly sand mixed into paint? The pattern on the helmet looks like at one point the helmet had chicken wire on it. The down side is that one pin has been replaced with a smaller possibly ww1 pin but pin looks old and maybe period replacement...... Very pleased with this helmet...has loads of been there and done it qualities. I had to choose between a very good Decaled one or this and like i said the character did it for me....opinions always appreciated.

I don't see any problems with this lid. Nice worn look with good insides.

You may be right about it have a chicken wire fitted at one time, as
there appears to be markings left from the wire.
I can only assume it may have had a light grey overspray added at some point, but have trouble
making it out from the pics.
As for the glittery bits God only knows.
