Am I correct in saying that this piece has been painted post war and that the decal is a repro?

Not sure on the paint but I would agree with you on the bird.

Due to the pitting in the metal i would say its been repainted therefore the decal would have been adhered after that, imo all bad, plus im not 100% sure on the helmet, those vents look oversized to me unless its the angle of the photos and the liner pin holes seem to be ill placed especially the rear, from these photos it doesnt appear central to the rear

Yes Dave, I see the misalignment now. The rear pin hole is certainly not centralised. I was quite sure about the decal and the paint but thanks for confirming it guys, I appreciate it.
