just wanted to share my semi-relic winter camo lid with you. It seems to have been a grave marker due to the hole on the top, when i got it, it was just the shell, i added a original liner that wasn't the best to add to the over all apperince, you can still see the brush marks. Well, whats your opinion, should i have left it a shell or was completeing it with a liner a good move?,

Hole isn't from shrapnel or bullet it is from corrosion (rust).

It's what ever makes you happy
I would "lose" the draw string though.

The sort of wear one would expect to see on a white helmet

Personally I don't think the hole in the top is a result of being a grave marker. JMO

The hole on top has been punched through, not rust, for what reason, i don't know.

yes i would also like to say that the hole does not look like it is a result of rust or any sort of deterioration..

I think there is a good chance this is a war grave marker.
