M16 Austrian Mid War Reissue

I have had this a number of years. It is a WWI vintage Austrian M16 reissued after 1940 with a zinc/steel banded M31 liner complete with RB numbered, albeit broken, chinstrap, and a wonderful very coarse (almost sand camo textured) exterior paint job. No decals are visible under the exterior paint. The interior is a smooth, matte grey/green throughout, so I suspect the WWI components were removed and the shell painted and refit with the M31 post 1940, so it probably never had any TR decals. I can't read the date on the liner band. There is some staining on the liner and some flaking of the leather in that area which may be from blood. There is very little wear on the piece, so I suspect the soldat did not experience a long stay at the front. Anyway, I hope you like it. Jim G.

I see what you're looking at. I think it's a line in the paint, not so much a repair job.
