M17 Chicken wire Helmet

Article about: G'day All, First time here, picked this up for a coupla hundred dollars today. Looks like a M17 with chicken wire, stamped ET64 on the rim and E265 inside the helmet dome. I bought it becaus

    There is ww2 footage of a young soldier at the end of the war wearing an m16 with chicken wire.There is in my book on stalingrad german soldiers in m16s on the approaches to stalingrad,so ironically im sure many m16s where camoed in all the ways in ww2 that the m35s where in the field,lv

    Thankyou for your Information LV, makes me even happier to have this helmet!! Its always nice to have a unusual piece in a collection, something to look at and wonder about its history, and to know there is photo evidence of such helmets is even better! BTW what is your book on stalingrad called?
