Hello,
I was offered this M18 Berndorfer transition police double decal helmet.
It looks like it may have been a modern repaint to me but I wanted to get your opinions just to be sure.

Hi, I would be very wary of this one myself, looks to be in far to good condition for it's age. If it is a "minty" example I would want an in hand inspection but like the guys have already said, I suspect it is a refurb. Well done, but a refurb all the same. Leon.

the party shield deacl looks very similar. to the fake decal that I got done with a while ago.

The seller said it was verified as authentic by Kelly Hicks.
I do not know if he is being truthful or not but I thought I should mention it.
Also he is asking $1,800 for it.

Liner and chinstrap are reproduction this Gent shows the correct period pads on his example, probably others if you do a quick search.

Does that mean you think it is authentic?
I know Kelly Hicks wrote a book on German helmets but I never saw a COA from the seller either.
He may be just saying that Hicks OKed his helmet.

I don't understand why would you think that I agree with the other members and personally I wouldn't name drop a dealer by all accounts its not his helmet and I don't see a coa, what are those holes for on the left side gents?

Geelong what a fantastic pic of a decal I'd love a breakdown what's wrong with it.
