M27 Himmler helmet with special liner

Hello
I found this helmet with this Special liner
It seems to be made of a piece of a dish towel
One vent and the chinstrap is missing
The helmet seems to be feldgrau painted
It seem to be special or self made for a child
I am thankful for all posts and Ideas

It is a light/medium weight commercially manufactured civic helmet, the so called "Himmler" style shell, with screen vents. These were issued without decals and with Luftschutz, RLB, Police and Fire Police decals. Jim G.

Agree with Jim's assessment. The liner is interesting, this model generally was originally issued from the factory with a three pad leather liner reminiscent of the Imperial era M16 liners. I do have in my collection a Luftschutz RL2-38 (3-piece gladiator) helmet with a modified cloth liner similar to yours. I would guess that the original leather liner was replaced for personal preference for comfort, including the possibility of a head injury to the original wearer, Regards, Don
