I think it has got a chance of being legit camo. I do suspect that someone has tried to "dig out" the national shield, made a mess of it, then decided to remove it completely. If that's the case it will effect it's value.

I agree with the others, this one stands a good chance. Any camo is best evaluated in hand, but based on the photos I think it could be good.

The photo is not clear enough to determine really what happened to that decal. Possible dug out but I think it is a strong possibility that it just has flaked off. I have a helmet like this.

I cant. My eyes and the blurry photo had me questioning this in my first post.
Those with better and less tired eyes might see more.
Was just proposing another theory to consider which could be a strong possibility. Better photos will tell for sure.

Vetting this helmet based on these photos is a dangerous thing.
I would only cash out if it can be 100% ascertained that it is a period camo. From these photos I can't tell.
Nice, one of the few camos I would own. , I meant to tag this one to th one Map posted. I really like the look of that one. The one the op posted , I am not sure of.
