It's possible that the faker made several of these. Interesting.

Hi, just a footnote regarding this helmet. I went to my local militaria fair (Bromley) this morning and the first thing I see is this helmet for sale. I zeroed in to take a look (and I am pleased you got your money back Busman) the dealer noting my interest said it was an honest unmessed with camo, for sale at £500, although I mentioned a few of the issues he was unfazed and not going to budge on his opinion. Well 500 quid would be a great price if it was an original camo.
That tells you everything you need to know 500 squid.

Hi Wagriff, intriguing I know, and I was so surprised to see it, but its definitely the same one - with a missing tongue in the liner, I assume Busman sent sameday delivery on sat or dropped it off in hand because I had it in my hand on Sunday.

Trying to find an "unquestionable camo, is nigh on impossible. Just look at Bill shea's 12k one that is getting ripped apart
More reason for me to stop looking for another camo, I would always be thinking " is it ok or is it not"

Hi Busman, his name is Phillip I won't say his surname but he is based in Hove, East sussex, also I think he said he had a unit/cabinet in the Arundale antique centre. I know many dealers who drive up to Bromley from the south coast, dos not take too long on a Sunday morning. Wow, this is becoming a thread within a thread.

That all adds up perfectly. Tho I don't know Phillip. What a web they weave, it's hard to know who owns what is being sold.

I had never even seen a WW2 German camo - apart from pictures in books, until I joined WRF. Not bad going for over 50 years is it? I must have led a sheltered life!
