nice lid mate is it usual for the area around the eagle to be smooth or has that been done after (just curious) the lid looks mint

Nice M35 Anders has that been there done that look to it. Tom this helmet looks to have had a period repaint as you can see they covered up the German National shield according to the new regulations in 1940 I beleive ? And masked off the 1'st edition Luftwaffe Addler .

The eagle decal have been masked before the period repaint.
Have seen several LW helmets coming out of Norway like this one, sand in paint and masked eagle decal.
