Yup, looks like likely battle damage.
-
I don't think this is "battle damage" the hole in the liner band looks like it was made with a pick axe from the inside!....

If the "hit" had come from the outside the folded edges on the hole in the liner band would be on the inside, with the folded edges being on the outside surface of the band it denotes a hit from the inside of the helmet.

Im glad you got it.
Did you managed to convince them in lowering the price?
Cheers

Yes I know I saw that too, but on the inside the liner does not have a corresponding damage. The liner is almost undamaged in that spot.
It's hard to see this with the pictures but it is clearer when you have the lid in your hands.
I guess some metal parts started spinning and created that effect. When metal travels at high speed strange things happen.

Thanks I'm glad i decided to buy it.
He reduced the price with only 15%, but it was too good deal to let go anyways.
Had it been a real KM the price was a steal but now it was just a really good bargain.

Fantastic helmet, I can see both arguments as too the damage, I at first thought the hole in the liner band was anexit hole until I saw your pic in description, the speculation makes it all the more interesting.

Ok now I took a closer look at the hole and the damage on the inside.
I could not get it together with one hit so I went all CSI on this.
My conclusion is that it has been hit with 3 shots, bullets or shrapnel.
One is on the outside, you can clearly see the mark.
The other two are from the inside and out. I did not notice the damage in the liner at first because it must have been a very small caliber (".22?) or small shrapnel. The holes in the liner are hardly noticeable.
It was confusing since all hits are at the same spot, and a strange spot to. And they made kind of a pattern.
So I was wrong in my first guess but now it makes sense. But target practice, battle damage I can't say.
And why is the liner cut? Cant figure that out.
