Re: M35 DD Luftwaffe helmet for review
The shell and decals looks like they were scrubbed of an over paint. It is possible, but hard to tell for sure - but it could have been a white wash over paint that was scrubbed off. Looking at the interior skirt and around the tri-color, I think it it was most likely a period grey over paint.

Re: M35 DD Luftwaffe helmet for review
Forgot to add, if cheap enough, it is worth acquiring as it is original (though likely scrubbed) helmet.

Re: M35 DD Luftwaffe helmet for review
Thanks relicz,
Now you have pointed it out I can see traces of the overpaint around the vent holes as well. It's a pity someone has scrubbed the hell out of it - I would have liked it with the overpaint!
Chris.

Re: M35 DD Luftwaffe helmet for review
Possibly scrubbed I agree. If it was cheap enough though I'd still pick it up. It's nice that it still has the chinstrap too.

Re: M35 DD Luftwaffe helmet for review
Definitely not worth a true dd Luftwaffe helmet, but for the right price and if you like it, wouldn't be a terrible buy.

Re: M35 DD Luftwaffe helmet for review
Seller is asking £400 GBP for it which is around $650 USD - Too much in my opinion with all things considered. Think I would prefer to wait until a better one comes along??

Re: M35 DD Luftwaffe helmet for review
For another 600 you can get a nice one. Keep waiting.

Re: M35 DD Luftwaffe helmet for review
I wonder if the tri color is a variant of some kind, but maybe it is just the wear that makes it look...strange. The chinstrap, liner, dates, and paint all add up to an original DD Luft. $650 isn't a bad price in my opinion, if you could talk the guy down to $600 this one may be worth picking up as a starter DD. The Tri color would display nicely showing the right side.
