OK. I confess. I really want this helmet badly, but it is WAY out of my league price-wise. LOL! I wonder if the high bidder will actually pay? Some people just get carried away. Remember there is a buyers fee on top of the auction price.

I don't remember a buyers premium in the previous auction. Is that new or did I just not notice it before?

    butschek antiques

    "Being the lucky winner
Winning an auction at butschek antiques is like buying items from our store. We will send you an invoice containing all lots you have won, and your shipping costs, after the auction has ended. There is 12,5% Buyer´s Premium (including VAT) on top of the hammer price. According to your preferences, we offer daily shipping through FedEx, DHL and German Post. To learn more about our shipping methods please click here.

    Low Buyer´s Premium, no Reserve
Although many specialist auctions charge more, there is currently only 12,5% Buyer´s Premium (including VAT & payment charges) on the hammer price. Lots listed at butschek antiques are going to auction without a reserve price."

That means that at the current value the buyers premium will add $1112 to the price. On top of that, you have to be insane not to ship by a premium carrier, which easily adds another $200 or more to the bill if you are in North America.

Like I said, out of my league.... Good luck to the bidders!

I did bid on the Imperial Flag. Someone wants it a lot more than I and I've nowhere to hang it anyway so I'll sit the rest of that one out. Otherwise just watching and waiting....

I think they will, it's a psychological barrier that someone will cross.

($9900 with 10 hours to go)

This is just insane: butschek antiques

9 hours left and already about $16,000. Why sell things on e-stands if you can have Klaus auction them for you! Holy Cow!

I don't believe in this online auction setup , it can be rigged so easily. "Bots" that over bid and retract their bids if they are the highest bidder , any computer programmer can build this. Who's controlling the validity of the bids , Butchek ?

Nice helmet but I'll take one with a slight scratch near the rim for 3000$. Online auctions ? No thank you.
