Hi Guys, I am new to this excellent forum. Can anyone give me their opinion on whether this helmet is original?

Why do you think it is luftwaffe? .. inside looks more field grey to me in these photos.
maybe a field done overpaint with the tricolour peeking through.

Thanks for replies , the helmet is on ebay and the seller said its Luftwaffe blue inside, so you think its original but the overpaint is wrong ?

Hi Steve, welcome to the forum!

The basic helmet itself is original, but the exterior has been messed with. Look at the bright steel around the air vent and liner pin holes. Not one for your collection.

Thanks for that Ade. Will give this one a miss. I've not really got a collection as such, I'm after one good WW2 helmet to go with my WW1 ones. Will keep looking! Cheers, Steve.

Look on the classifieds , if you only want one don't look for bargains but buy one from a trustworthy source.

hi the helmets on the forum all seem to be in USA, Would i get slammed for tax at customs Steve.
