M35 M40 helmet ???

Hi all I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is a M35 or M40 german helmet?

hello matthew ,from my observation's i would say this helmet is reproduction ,lots of tell tale signs ,the liner , the chinstrap , the thick uneven rolled edge and the glossy paintwork ,i would avoid ,thanks james

Yes, a copy of an M40. Could be a BGS though

thanks to all that have replied. I'v not bought this helmet yet . Is it possible M40 helmet shell repainted with BGS post war liner ? It's being sold very cheap under $50 AU locally. regardless I might grab it and put it with my other stuff would be good to have one for a comparison when I finally get a real M35 / M40 . Thanks again people

I don't think it is a repainted she'll, it's an outright BGS, I would save the money and put it towards the real deal.

Yes listen to Morris and save your money,helmet is sometimes called the M53 and there were a few differant variants,most were issued as said to the BGS..............

Well nailed chaps. Not a wartime M40, BGS. The massive vent is a giveaway, much bigger even than a wartime Q vent.
