M35 Norwegian Helmet / your opinions?

Hello all together,

i'm really new in collecting german steel helmets. Started with a few ground dug helmets, and slowly more better conditions but my knowledge is still very low
A few days ago i bought this M35 SE62, the seller told me it's a norwegian one.

So what's your opinions on this piece? For my part, i really like the look. But here's another question: is there any chance that there's original paint? I guess not.
And what about those red "dots" - can somebody tell me what that is? And how i could remove them..?

If I'm reading the lot number etc right then this started life as a single decal Heer helmet before getting it Norwegian overpaint. As such the previous owner has decided to attempt to strip back the paint in the hope of finding an original decal. The red dots I think may be traces of a previous post war overpaint as well. A pity it has been scraped to within an inch of its steel but I doubt there is any original paint under what is left.

The previous owner didn't treat it good, i guess. ;(

But (besides of the red dots) i think it looks okay and "collect worthy".

You could maybe try to remove the brown leather dye from the liner with some nail polish remover, if you are feeling brave?

Yes, that sounds good. I have aceton here, could try it on a "not so visable" spot and see how it turns out.

Hi, yes, a stripped back Norwegian re-issue. A shame really as the Norwegian examples are now becoming quite scarce due to "tampering" Leon.
