Default M35 NS HEERES DD repainted?

    Hi
Please take a look in this one...Named as well...cant read it though...
There is a dome stamp on the proper spot, kind of faint NS64 mark, the chinstrap bales are the squared type. The chinstrap bares the firma JOSEF HERBST and the place HOHEN....the year 1940 also. The lot number must be F175 (?)...

The interior looks fine but chinstrap is a fake in my opinion.
Both decals are originals but the Ed Strache type Heer eagle is only found on reissued helmets , the tricolor appears to have been heavily cleaned or something. Or maybe a layer of post war paint was removed from the helmet.
My advice would be to pass and look for a better example.

From what I've seen at shows over here lately, I think $400 was a pretty good buy,
even with the aged fake chinstrap.

One heavily varnished M40 I saw this past fall had completely black and rotted
liner leather and only one barely-there Heer decal for the same asking price,
with no chinstrap. It was nicer than any other WWII
    German helmet there.........!
    Regards,

    Steve.

I think it is great! Strache decals are not that common (fitted). I would keep a space for it in my collection any day!
    Cheers
