This is a former double decal helmet, probably Heer, refurbished, or at least repainted, probably at the Quist factory. The original green paint is in the dome and on the worn parts of the bill and apron. There are the tell tale paint drips characteristic of helmets refurbished at the Q factory, and paint on the liner band and the chinstrap attachments. The last owner, Bocker, brushed on a coat of rough textured grey camo paint. You can see where the decal is under the paint on the left side of the helmet, and there is a small remnant of the top left corner of a decal peaking out from under the grey overpaint on the right side of the helmet, and I am not sure what type it is, it really does not look like the edge of a tricolor, but I can't really tell. Not a spectacular helmet, just a real combat veteran. Hope you like it. Jim G.
PS I do not know how the M40 Luft sneaked into this post, and I don't know how to remove it. Sorry for the distraction.
