Looks like it has remains of a checkered pattern. Possibly used post war as a motorcycle helmet? I hope a more experienced member can help you soon

Geez. I don't think you will get a consensus on this. I for one would want to see it in hand and even then I'm not sure I would know.

Is there green paint over the white? Looks like it but I really can't expand the photos that much without losing clarity.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

Bizarre checkered pattern, anyone's guess, looks like for a grand prix official or rebel biker. It's been mainly stripped back to reveal underlying green paint.

Hi, well I would say that the pattern was applied post war as it would be more of a stand out from the crowd than a cammo! Great for a biker or alike but I would question a Soldats thinking although as we all know, there are some odd cammo's out there. Also the liner pins have "wobbles" in all directions, so that band has been in and out a few times. Personally not one I would pursue. Leon.

Thanks - will post better photos.
It was surely refurbished hence the wobbly pins etc.
