One of two SOS buys. This one was brought to the show for me, reserved weeks ago.
1939 dated SE 66. These are not easy to find lately, I don't know where all the nice ones have gone.

Very nice lid
Wow David, that is super nice. A gorgeous lid with just enough wear (and named) to know it was issued and actually worn. I would sell my 2nd pattern eagle DD if I could find one in the condition of yours to replace it.
Anyway, great pick up!

You already know I'm in luv with this helmet. My 2019 helmet wish list is to find a similar example (sized 64 if possible). I too wish I know where they all went.....
Congratulations

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Super nice David !
I see helmets coming in waves. Sometimes what you are looking for is not available and months or years later you get thrown 2 in your hands at the same time.
What is the lot number ?
Thanks Frank
As I said & sure you know...these second pattern M35 Lufts were never easy to find. But they were out there. Last 10 years maybe, I see the first pattern or "droop tails" for sale & in collections. But the later examples are almost non-existent in collectible condition.
Lot# is 4392
