Here is a very rare police helmet. SE produced very few in 1936. They stopped in 1936 & started again in late 1939 into 1940.
This is triple dated 1936 with the early embossed liner stamp in the leather. They used the same factory applied decal the 1936 Q police used, Methner Berg. I have only seen two others by this maker in this early configuration

Nice! Brand new and never on a greasy haired head! Can't ask for much more!

Funny you say that. For some reason many police helmets have greasy liners. Not from post war tampering, just think a lot of police guys had greasy hair

Now you cannot get a finer looking Police M35 than that, the embossed liner is a real eye catcher and something that I have been looking out for myself for quite some time. Well done and thanks for sharing it with us. Leon.

Beautiful helmet David. I have his "smaller" brother in size 66. I am curious if ours have the same lot number........mine is 2983.

    Cheers,

    David,
Incredible helmet. What amazes me is how such a early helmet escaped being used. I understand late helmets being picked up in a warehouse or train car I guess we will never know.

Hi Terry. My lot# is 2992
    Thanks for your nice reply..

Marty...police guys from what I have seen, usually are wearing visors or field caps. Don't see them in helmets often other than maybe Warsaw policing.
Man may have been an officer issued this helmet & it sat in his locker unworn for years. Just a guess
