    I'm trying to see if I mistaken something, but it looks like one chinstrap bale is a type M40 and the other is a type 35?... Anyone else see that?

    Unless the one towards the top (picture) is just a bit ground down?... I cant tell....

    Looks good to me too. If the bales are different that is OK for a reinforced alu liner band. Not common but fine.

    Thanks and to my old eye they look the same. I will check with a loop tonight.

    I thought the "ribbed" chinstraps were frowned upon and considered post war ( I know equipment straps and zelt ones are )
