M40 DD Heer helmet for review

Article about: The paint is M35 tone, I'd wager all the parts are 1940 or earlier dated since it is an M40 with M35 specs.

Default M40 DD Heer helmet for review

    Hello all,
Another helmet for you guys to take a look at, looks to be an honest/original complete lid to me but I don't have enough knowledge to know if the name and number on the rear skirt is legitimate?? From the the front shot it looks as the liner is coming away from the outer band and hanging down, it also has the obvious wear to the heer decal.

    Any other opinions appreciated,
    Cheers,
    Chris.

Double decal M40's are rare as hens' teeth. I am not sure about the tri color. Better, clearer straight on pictures of BOTH decals are needed. Jim G.

Agree with Jim here, I'd like to see some clear, straight on images of the decals before giving my two cents worth!

    Best regards,
    Josh

It might have a shot. New pics should help out a lot. Do you know the shell markings? What is the price/source if you don't mind me asking? That might tell as much of a story as anything else.

The name looks to be new to me ,the light yellow color on the white letter is usely a red flag.
The tri color dos not look right to me.
not to sure about the heer decal .
I would really like to see better pictures.
I think it is probably a single heer helmet.

It may stand a chance as a single decal Heer, but much better pics are needed. A lot of fancy photography going on here. The shots of the decals may be off center at an angle to compensate for the glare from the flash. Ask the seller to take pics outside. It very well may be a SD M40 with a few additions to make it look more appealing.

I will request some more decal snaps and the shell markings from the seller which should help out more. It's being sold by a private seller in the US - He is after $1000 for it, cheers, Chris.
