M40 ET64 DD Salty Combat Polizei

This is the lid I posted for review before purchase ages ago and I am only now getting around to taking some proper pics of it now its in my possession.

Its a nice salty combat lid, with a great un boarded police decal. Paint seems to have taken on a dark brown/ green tinge with only the liner pins showing the true green. Pins are tight and not rebent, and the liner band is to tight to see a date. Chinstrap also shows some writing but hard to make out as its quite worn. ET64 with a lot number of 108 or 1081, as it looks like a very faint last digit.

Overall I nice worn piece and was glad to have the opportunity to buy it.

I like it. Field police helmets are neat. I like them as much as SS.

Nice lid! My police lid must be a close relative to yours if your lot number is in fact 1081, mine's a 1042 although she's a different shell size.

Oooo Nice one Glenn! In hand it really does look like 1081 so I think they are related anyways, lol. Funny how on both the shield has been retained more than the polizei decal

True, the damage to my police decal almost put me off buying it but after a couple of months I don't even notice it now, it's the gorget that takes my eye these days!

Just an honest DD Combat Police helmet, one that I would be very happy to have on the shelf! The others are very fine as well. Nice lids all. Thanks for posting them, Jim G.
