    Need some better pics of this one, lot number and maker if possible to. Looks alright at this stage, though the liner band looks alittle damaged and not married to the helmet like its been there for 70+ years. Still will leave judgement till better pics arrive

    Thanks mate,

    My real concern was the paint, being an M40 it shouldn't have that smooth paint which is what I can see in the photos..

    What are your thoughts?

    The paint does not appear to be original to me. I've never seen green paint like this on a helmet. I could be wrong, but just my opinion.

    the liner appears to have been removed and then re installed (see distorted liner images )
    has anyone verified the Helmet liner pins to see if they have been removed? and then re bent back into position?
    the paint appears recent( 15-20 ? some odd years old and there is too much fresh rust around the helmets rim from maybe sitting in water or Contact with Moisture ?

    I agree with the above comments. Not an untouched lid.
    It looks repainted and messed with.........
