M40 no decal lid for evaluation please

Article about: Can anyone give me some views on this lid please? They say it is a size 62, no note of maker/batch number. Liner looks to have been used, but whether it is of WW2 vintage do not know.

Hi, looks a decent no decal M40 in granulated field grey. The thickness of that type of paint work can sometimes obscure the manufacturers details. The liner seems ok and contempory to the helmet too.If the price is right have a go.

Price is currently $140 on an auction. Is upto $200 OK?

It looks ok but i don't like the way the inner liner band "pop up". Still good for the price IMO.

IMO the liner is original but i can't say if it has been replaced or not.

leather in liner may be a bit dry, but otherwise looks OK IMO.

Must admit that raised liner is a bit strange but i think its all ok, the one thing i hate to see are liners that have been pulled too tight with the draw string, it puts too much strain on the tongues and can knife through the leather, I had to look twice because i thought it was an m35 with a m40 liner

sorry didn't realise the rim thickness varied so much between m35-m40,i looked at the rim which i thought was unusually thick, which is the normal thing on repro-re-worked shells,my mistake guys, regards minnie.
