Looks like an M42 from the one pic so he is wrong from his first sentence. The war was 90 years ago ? (LOL)
D.

Lol in his message to me he added another ten years as well. 100 years ago... hmmm. Something tells me this wasn't around in 1918. Call it truth, call it facts, etc, just don't call it a century old!
-
Story is bogus. His grammar is terrible and it's not pushing 90 years. Closer to 80...LoL
Is there a liner? More and clear photos are needed. If helmet and decal is original but missing a liner, $100 is fine
And it's an M42
Edit: David beat me to the punch. I forgot to hit "send"

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

No liner. It has me scratching my head. As long as it's a real M42 and I don't get police knocking on my door for possession of stolen property, we should be peachy!

OK. It might just be the poor photos or my imagination but do I see a screw in the vent hole??

I just got the better photos and it is. I'm laughing. What, when, where and why????

Definitely for a chin strap. You can see the remains of the leather straps. I would say it's a classic "biker" job.
Up to you as to whether it is worth it. Relics sell for close to $100 but this is a post war messed with helmet.

MAP, I'm with you. Without getting into the nuts and bolts (pun intended), the screw situation is just too much for me after all. I would have been more apt toward buying it, but I don't appreciate being lied to. Nothing like a good ole' Russian Motorcycle M42. Thank you for the guidance on this one and warm wishes to you and yours!
