M40 Single-Decal Luftwaffe

The first German helmet that I've bought and owned arrived in the mail today! I spent quite awhile gazing at it in fascination, and I decided to take a few pictures of it and post it here as well.

I am slightly concerned about the decal. However, the areas I am looking at for "repro" clues have been damaged, most likely on purpose if this is a repro. Anyone have additional thoughts on that?

Hmmm, well i try to steer clear on decals as i just don't know enough about them, but as you said the claws and head are the obvious clues, which are damaged...Coincidence?

I think the bird is fine. What is the lot #? It looks like 325, and on a data base I can access on another forum there is a Q64 single decal Luft match. I think the helmet if 100% correct, complete with a shortened chin strap to boot. Nice helmet. Jim G.
