Default M40 Stamping question "Siekmann", Norwegian reissue

    Hello All,

Had this Norwegian M40(?) for a while, with some usual looking stamps:

    Q64

    Dn 82

But then the below I hadn't seen before:

"Sie" and " Siekmann" (the "a" is double stamped)

Sorry if this is too obvious as a question, not really my field...

    Thanks for having a look..

That's interesting to see. I guess it was the owner's name, and he had access to some stamps. It wasn't added at the factory. Not something I have seen before.

Great looking helmet , finding these Norwegian helmets in good order is getting hard. As the others have said , I would guess the original(german) owner had the impressions "hand stamped"(die and hammer) onto the shell as the paint from the Norwegian re-fit is on top of the markings. Leon.
