Wiring going around the outside of the helmet does not appear to have much age to it

Wiring and net doesn't look original to the helmet IMO, can't say much about the paint

I think someone tried to sexy up a ND M42. As dried as that leather looks, I would expect the string to be just as dried. The string also looks like modern crabbing string. And there is no marriage between the wire, string, paint and shell. Personally, on my observations I would pass on it if I was offered it.
