Default M42 in real good condition

I am back in Denmark at the moment. I visited a friend who has a very nice M42, so i just want to show it to you. He got it from his English grand fatheri He was a WW2 vet and he brought it back with him. Now my friend have it. I have a few questions about this nice helmet.

It have a ink stamp on the inside of the dome. I can't read it. It's visible on the pics. What is this stamp?

As you can see, liner and strap is in very good condition. However both are beginning to be a bit stiff and the strap is a little cracked. I want to give him some advice on maintaining the leather. What can be done? The helemts is of great value to my friend so i don't want to give him wrong advice. He will never sell it. I asked him of course.

    Regards, Lars

Does that mean I get another green bar or at least a rep power of two lol! Good luck, it's a great helmet. I wish I had it.

Thank you for the name mate. I meant the ink stamp under the liner inside of the dome. But nice to know the name.

hkp is the maker SE, I do like hkp lids as they have a nice shaped air vent, very definitive.

Beautiful lid in excellent condition. The dome stamp is an acceptance stamp, sometimes found in the dome, sometimes not.

As for the liner, I wouldn't touch it with anything. Just dont leave it in the sun or expose it to moisture etc.

    Cheers
    Jason
