M42 sd luft: camo painting?

Hello to you all; I've got this helmet, in which are present traces of white substance: could it be something related to winter camouflage ... or just patina? Thanks a lot,

Looks like winter whitewash may have been applied and later cleaned off perhaps. Rivets look swapped out as well, maybe its from the flash glare.

Ok, I took advantage by the sunlight to take some more pics of this helmet. As you can see, there is some white stuff (it's not dust) inside the areators. I didn't buy the helmet as former-winter camo, but just as a plain sd luft, which probably is. However, I'd like to have your opinion on it.

it's a good helmet , it could have been winter camoed and brushed off again hence the faded adler.

Definatly looks like it had been white washed and then removed, have a ND M42 just like it myself, but with a tad more whitewash. Very nice lid!
