    Default M42 Toned Heer ET66 Lot 2199

This is a M42 Heer with a toned decal (wish it was KM but I think not) I have taken the picture of the decal with and without a flash. It is an ET66 with a very light lot number stamp which I think is 2199?? Also there seems to be the remains of someones name painted on the rear skirt which doesn't help reading the lot number. The decal is worn but still remains at about 75%. The original paint also has similar wear. Internally the liner is quite well worn but has very few marks and the split pins are untouched.

I am posting this lid for comments before placing it in the classifieds section for sale so any interested parties can be sure of what they are buying
(I don't think it has been posted before)
I have had it a few years and recently have decided to let a few helmets go to fund some new additions

    Any comments appreciated

    Cheers

    Chris.

You sure that is an ET, seem more characteristic of an EF. Heer and not KM. No red flags That I can see on this small screen I am currently viewing it on.

Liner leather look a little loose and could be a replacement, but it could also just be the way it was stored.

The stamp on the 'T' is light but I'm pretty sure it is ET ?

In hand the leather looks like it has actually shrunk and appears stretched but the split pins look untouched.

Nice shell. Concerns about the liner being replaced.

Nice lid, I though mine was a KM also but it turned out to be a toned Heer, even though it looked golden, but when you do a side by side with a real KM then you can see the subtle difference.

Thanks for all the input guys,

Frank and Todd, what are your concerns with the liner? I thought it was right as rain

I like it, but it is possible that the leather has been replaced onto the original liner band.
That might explain the split pins looking good, just a thought.
