I would say post-war also.

Hi,
Amazing this last one. It feels like they are still making them.
Luis
I think the first helmet is "homemade". It would not be the first time someone with access to a powerful hydraulic press have tried to copy a German WW2 helmet. Just my opinion and i could be wrong
Cheers
Perhaps the Czechs were attempting to put out their
own helmets - These look like errors. It doesn't
make sense to warehouse unfinished lids,
unless there was a factory nearby.........

Steve.
Just found this thread, wondered if others might find it interesting.

I just saw a couple of these at the local show yesterday. I didn't even inquire what they were. Now that I see this thread, I wish I had.

Could they be post war produced "movie prop" helmets?
I've seen pics of molds attributed to movie prop helmets.
I thought the location of the shells discovery was interesting though.
Why would Czechs need to produce replicas when there were large quantities of genuine helmets locally?
I've certainly seen both vertical and horizontal beading ,rippling in M42s.
Still interesting to me in light of the possible qvl,bvl plant suggested to have been in Czechoslovakia.
Love to hear more opinions!
