My first Helmet questions

I just purchsed this helmet. My first one. It is supposed to have been brought home by a US army soldier at the end of the war.

Can someone comment on the model number and if it's orginal??

As a newcomer, I've been very impressed by the content of this website. It will be a very good resource.

It is a "civic" model.

This helmet is indeed a M34 civic model. Apparently it still has the original liner.

You should take a good look at the site mentioned below. It gives a lot of information.

Yes....that is a very informative site. Can't add anymore - it's a civic helmet used by police and firefirefighters. It had black paint on it and two decals at one time.
