Hi Michiel, looks a nice helmet. But I would say a toned Heer for sure rather than a KM decal.

I think someone has used it for target practise!

    Cheers, Ade.

the bullit holes arent rusted so they must be quite new
bought it from a quite old german man who dad it form some old guy in berlin
he said it has been like that for years as it is now
the brown tan over the field grey is that some sort of rust ?

Looks like a nice reissue Heer with possibly a liberated tricolor and some target practice bullet holes.

Doug put it perfectly....I think that tri-colour was covered up during the war and was "uncovered" afterwards. It's certainly an army lid (not KM given the toned decal).
Great lid that has a lot of character - thats for sure!

    It is an EE66 4671
can anyone tell me more about it
and analise the bullit holes if they are old or after war?
i have seen more just like it

I'm surprised that the bullets did not penetrate the shell....unless they were fired from quite a distance. These helmets were good - but not usually good enough to repel bullets....The shell maker would be EF (not EE) to clarify...and the 66 represents the size of the shell in cm's. The liner is probably a 58cm example. Any markings on the liner? You should have a look "inside" the liner. Sometimes there are more markings on the underside.
    Cheers!

    is the EF the factory?

    Michael
EF is the factory, Emaillierwerke A.G in the city of Fulda Q For Quist and a few others.

My advise is to NOT touch the helmet at all. I think Rob means to pull the liner back carefully, not dismantle it.

It would serve no purpose, and would just de-value it.

I do agree that it is a "toned" Heer Adler.
