Looks good to me. Nice salty lid but all there! Lets see what others say.
My question to others in looking at these pictures is if there is maybe a light camo to it? Hard to tell
And great price!

Looks ok I think. You can probably provide some better pics when you get it in hand. The liner is interet of though. Has the appearance of ground dug liners in eastern Europe.

Thanks Michael! I appreciate your guidance in the hobby.

A nice battle worn veteran that would have looked a lot better back in '45 when the GI brought it home ( before it went to live in the barn!!! )

Glad I can help but only rely on me for the abc's, the rest of the alphabet I'm still learning as well...but for that price it was a great deal any way you look at it.

LoL...A shame these went out to a shed or musty, damp old basement to spend their lives.

Is there anything I should do about that liner?
The lady I talked with at the auction house sent me the photos, originally their was just one photo posted.
She said that the gentlemen that brought it in to consign told her that he found it in his fathers personal effects, who served in the ETO.
Its a real shame about the bird though. But I guess whats left is better than nothing

Glad she didn't claim it came from the PTO...lol..she already listed it as a WW1 lid!
I would not try to do anything with the liner. When you get it you will then see how pliable it is but my guess it will be quite stiff, so leave it as is and store it correctly. If you are lucky and it is soft, maybe you can stuff the inside with lightly crunched up paper or plastic bags. This may over time bend the to tongues back in shape...may...

Hard to tell from the pics, but you may have an intact liner,
with all the fingers. Hopefully, you only paid the price
of what an original chin strap goes for today !
Helmet is rough but I think it's ok and may only
need a wipe down with a slightly
dampened cloth.........
